Groo the Wanderer by Sergio Argones
(1985-1995)
Sergio Argones is know for his Mad Marginals. Groo was a very popular comic in the 1980's. It has since slipped in popularity. Groo #1 published in March of 1985 was priced as much as $25 in Near Mint. It is now valued at $8 in near mint. I got Sergio Argones to sign the first copies up to #10.

Mark Evanier, as far as I can tell is the mulch master, cheese dip maker, Bard, etc. Okay, he is the writer, although he never says it. I get the joke.

"Groo does what Groo does best." What is it that Groo does best? In the Texas panhandle, we have a force similar to Groo. It is called a tornado. It is useless to try to turn a tornado to your will. It is best to take cover or run away. The same applies to Groo. Like a tornado, the longer Groo stays around, the more complete the destruction.

Groo has a dog named Rufferto that worships Groo. He thinks Groo is very smart. Groo would not like it if someone were to take Rufferto. After all, Groo loves Rufferto. Mainly with ketchup & cheese dip on the side. Rufferto is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Groo is an intellectual giant in comparison.
